Have your say on local buses
Ever since I was elected as your Member of Parliament, I have been working to secure better bus services for residents in Altrincham and Sale West.
As Mayor, Andy Burnham introduced the £2 cap on bus fares, the hopper fare, contactless ‘tap and go’ across trams and buses, and free bus travel for 16-18 year olds through the Our Pass scheme. Bev Craig has expanded this to 11-18 year olds from January 2027, meaning young people will be able to travel across Greater Manchester for free.
I worked with Andy Burnham to secure better buses linking Altrincham to Dunham Massey, Warburton and Bowdon. A new 263 Night service has started running on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, connecting Altrincham and Sale to Manchester city centre.
And that’s not all. By 2030, Altrincham, Hale and Navigation Road railway stations will all be joining the Bee Network. This means local residents will be able to enjoy all the benefits of joined up buses, trams, trains and active travel.
The Bee Network has transformed how we use public transport across Greater Manchester, but I know there’s still work to do. Fill in my survey to have your say on what works and what can be improved when it comes to local bus services.
