Connor Rand MP

Last Thursday, Connor Rand MP organised a public meeting with GM Mayor Andy Burnham for residents in Dunham Massey and Warburton to discuss local bus services.
The Bee Network launched in Trafford in early January and gives residents more control and say over how local services are run. As well as greater public control, the Bee Network also brings passenger benefits such as more accessible buses, easier and cheaper fares and soon integrated ticketing with Metrolink will be launched.
During Thursday’s meeting, Andy and Connor heard from residents about their experiences with the buses and the impact that service reductions are having on local people and businesses.
Connor has now met with TfGM representatives to feedback the discussion from the meeting and to discuss other local transport issues, including school bus services in Broadheath. Andy will join Connor at a follow up meeting with residents in a few months’ time.
Speaking about the meeting, Connor said:
“I was really pleased that Andy accepted my invite to join me at a public meeting in Dunham Massey. Clearly, there are historic issues with local bus services that have been impacting residents for a number of years.
Now that Trafford is part of the Bee Network, I am hopeful that I can work with Andy to improve bus services in areas including Altrincham to Dunham Massey and school services in Broadheath so that they work effectively for the local community.
I will be keeping residents updated on this issue and my office will organise a further public meeting with Andy in the coming months.”
At the meeting, Connor launched his constituency-wide bus survey which he will use to feed into TfGM’s forthcoming network review in Trafford. The survey can be accessed here.
